When a socket head cap screw wants to back out, hi-collar split lock washers keep the squeeze on. The tall collar centers under the head for better bite in counterbores and recessed holes. Go black oil dipped spring steel for everyday torque jobs or 18-8 stainless when moisture and washdowns are in the mix.
